IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This is NOT pay to be reviewed. Please understand you are NOT buying a review, but rather expediting the review process, while helping support the site and appreciate the writers. You cannot purchase a "better" or "favorable" review, so to speak, then you would have otherwise received outside of the expedite process. All reviews are the opinion of the writer(s), and will remain honest. Once a review is published it will not be removed and will not be edited for content. You can only expedite a review 1x every 6 months!

Artist - Support

What is an Enhanced Listing and why do we have them?

An Enhanced Listing is an "Enhanced Artist/Band Listing," featuring a photo and extended text that makes it stand out from the other artists on the site. An Enhanced Listing is basically inexpensive advertising, good for a whole year. The money goes to support the site, cover the time and expenses that go into maintaining it.

The Benefits of an Enhanced Listing!

Without a doubt our goal of the Enhanced Listing is to have you stand out, and Enhanced Listings do stand out. We've put up support links throughout the site, encouraging people to know that you're a supporter of the local music scene. Here are a few things we're doing with the Enhanced Listings:

          Active - The Enhanced Listing

Active - Your support graphic on "Artist Support."

Active - Artist support links throughout the site.

          Active - Priority photo use*.

          Active - Priority CD review*.

Active - Random EH Listing on Artist Page.

Since we're always looking to improve the Enhanced Listings, what we offer may change as the site grows and develops.

How many Enhanced Listings does the site feature?

We do 50 Enhanced Listings or 5% of the overall artists registered on the site after 1,000 artists. This ensures that the listings stand out amongst the regular listings.

I'm interested, how do I get this started?

Step 1 (photos)

Two photos are used with each EH Listing. We ask that you send large photos and allow us to edit them down to size. However the size of the photos are 150x95 on the artist page and 129x114 on the support page. If you've got some great photos, send us a few, "priority photo use" means that if you have a photo that we feel is appropriate for use in and around the site, we'll use them. These photos are cropped to 100x100 (a square) for display around the site.

When sending photos, please send us an email before sending us the photo, letting us know what photos you are sending. If you send photos or any other attachment in your first email to us, they will be deleted.

Step 2 (the text)

Probably the easiest and hardest part of the Enhanced listing is figuring out what to say and how to say it. We've found it most effective use of the space is to use "style" as your first description and compare yourself to artists in your genre. Doing this helps people "get it" right away. The second part of the EH listing is the description, which is entirely up to you. Keep in mind that if you make a comment about yourself we will comment it - "the greatest band in the world" - so that it's not mistaken for something we're saying, even if it's true. But the best text is text that invokes a reader's curiosity.

Text is limited to 60 characters in the style line and 320 characters in the description. Characters include spaces.

Step 3 (links)

The last step of your Enhanced Listing is to include links. The first link should be your official website, unless you don't have one. We will link to any site related directly to your artist/band. There is space for 4 links. Example: (Official Website) (CD Place 1) (CD Place 2) (Fan Site). Please send the entire URL.

Can I change the information in my Enhanced Listing?

Absolutely, all you have to do is send us an email to enhancedlisting@thenymusicsce.com and we'll make the necessary changes. Changes generally take 24/72hrs. We do not accept any time sensitive information in the Enhanced Listing. For show date information we ask that you use the on-line calendar.

* Priority photo use & priority reviews.

This is not a guarantee that we will use your photo(s) on the site. Reviews are not always favorable and are often the opinion of the writer. While we can guarantee your CD will be reviewed, we will make no express guarantees to the type nature of the review itself. Priority CD reviews are limited to product that you as an artist are actually promoting. We reserve the right to not to review inappropriate material.
