Geral Information:   The Joint

If you haven't been to The Joint you may have well driven by it and not even noticed it was there. Too bad for you! The Joint is very inviting as a place to get a drink, see a band or hang with friends.

The Atmosphere:

When you first enter The Joint you'll see the stage straight ahead elevated about 4 feet off the floor with a full bar off to your right. The small venue has a high ceiling draped in what appears to be a black parachute or air balloon. Black and red walls accented with soft red lighting which really gives The Joint its style.

Large mirrors with gold frames adorn the left side of the venue and reflect everything from the stage to what's going on at the bar. A large panel TV hangs over the end of the bar and a projection TV above the stage. Among some of the common things you'll find at most clubs, like the disco balls, they have 2 horns sticking up on either side of the stage.

There's a rumor that they serve pizza, but there are no other foods available. If you're going to The Joint, you're going for the music, drinks and good time. This shouldn't spoil anything because they've got great music and a full bar.

While it quickly becomes standing room only, you'll be able to see the band from nearly any place in the bar. The elevated stage with its projection screen make for an almost concert like presentation in this much more intimate setting. The musical styles range from rock, alternative to eclectic, but the word here is "Good," they book good acts.

What you should know:

While The Joint isn't the best-known club in Los Angeles, it certainly features some of the best-known artists on its stage, just proving that you can get a large club experience from a small venue. They have a great sound system and right atmosphere and the cover charge is reasonable.

Parking Situation:

Parking is available in the back, but it's limited. You can find additional parking around the streets in the neighborhood. On a busy night you may have to park a few blocks away. The area is nice and a lot of the streets in the area are residential. Don't forget to check the parking signs!
