Geral Information:   The Cat Club

Located on Sunset Blvd. right next door to the Whisky and walking distance from clubs like the Viper Room and The Roxy, The Cat Club is a small bar with everything you'd want from a large club and more. The small and cozy atmosphere is all the appeal. This is a great place to spend an evening on the strip.

The Atmosphere:

For a venue that looks so small, it sure is deceiving. It's hard to believe that they can fit so many people in this long and narrow space, but it works. The club is low lit, black interior, elegant and really comfortable.

Booth like seating surrounds the left wall from when you first enter and goes all the way back to the staircase. The stage is right at the entrance, making your trip into the club a first hand experience. You actually walk within inches of the band playing to go anywhere inside.

The bar is tucked away in the back and sits at the base of the stairs, and stretches to the remaining length of the venue. Upstairs is a nice little hide away loft with sofas; quite comfortable. The room looks out over the club but a window keeps the music to an enjoyable level for conversation.

You'll find all sorts of the rock genre from acoustic to blazing jams adorning the stage. On some nights they even have some "all star" jams.

For the most part, the awkward layout is a disguised. There's lots of room to sit, plenty of room to stand, and on a busy night we've observed people cluttered on the stairs for in interesting view of the band.

What you should know:

The Cat Club is not a place you go to see a band for an hour and leave. Come early, stay late and have a good time. There's something intimate about the Cat Club that makes it "that place" to hang out on Sunset.

Parking Situation:

Parking isn't a big problem so as long as you observe parking signs in the neighboring streets or Sunset. There are parking lots behind the Whisky, the Roxy, the Viper Room and the Cat Club itself (among others), but expect to pay anywhere from $5 to $10.
