Artist Information - Using This Site
Thank you for your interest in the LAmusicScene.com. Here you'll find everything you need to know about submitting your artist/band information and show dates to the site, getting your music reviewed and more. We encourage everyone to get involved by joining as an artist, but also submitting your show dates to the calendar, joining the discussion forum and sending your music to us for review.
How to add an artist/band to the site?
Joining the site is free. You can list your artist/band with or without a website. Sign up is quick and does not expire or require any direct maintenance.
To remain active as an artist/band on the site all links (urls) must be kept current. We ask that if you change your artist/band name or something that requires updating that you email us. When you join the site you are added to your local music scene newsletter (in this case the LAmusicScene.com). We usually send the newsletter 1x a month, but never exceed 2x a month. Emails that are returned to us are considered inactive, and we use this to determine if an artist/band is active. Please keep your information with us current.
How to add a show date to the on-line calendar?
This is a great way to increase your visibility. If you can, please make mention of the artists you'll be playing with. We believe in a strong sense of community and promoting "shows." To submit show dates, we ask that you first join thelamusicscene.com (see above). The calendar has proven itself one of the heavier trafficked areas of the site. The average posting time is 24 to 72 hours.
Joining the on-line forum, and why?
We just want to let everyone know that the FORUM is going to be down for an unknown amount of time while we move the database to a new server and we'll be making some changes to the site in the coming weeks. Thank you for your understanding.
We encourage everyone to join the forum and use it as both an avenue to promote and to develop a unique relationship within the community. You'll have an opportunity to converse with both fans and other artists. You can list your shows in the upcoming shows section or talk about your artist/band in the promotion section, but the forum can also be a great tool to ask questions or meet new people.
How can you get a review on the site?
We do a number of different types of reviews on the LAmusicScene.com: live reviews, CD reviews, website reviews, notable tracks and more. We ask that you send us your press/review materials by mail, not by email, due to the volume of emails we get. Since we are a volunteer driven website, we cannot make any guarantees that you're music will get reviewed, however, we have a great track record with what we review and we make it a point to listen to everything we receive.
Please don't send us links to your mp3's. We do not review mp3's. We will simply delete these emails.

Add a Link to your Website!
Linking back to the LAmusicScene.com only takes a second. If every artist/band on the site linked back to this site there would be over 1,000 links and if only 1 person a month from each site searched through the LAmusicScene.com looking for new music there would be 11,988 potential fans that could find you… it only take a few moments.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS the LAmusicScene.com?
There are other sites that do similar things; some do it very well. However, we're very proud of our growth as a community. We're involved with clubs, promoters, artists and labels. Our "target market" is the fan!
