Interview with Sarah Scott : The Pervz

Catching up with our next "Just Passing Thru" column, we checked into The Pervz, playing at Top Fuel on Sunset. The band hails from Las Vegas! We asked those not so hard to ask questions and tried to dig into the differences between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Q) For those who aren't familiar with "The Pervz," tell us about the music and the bands influences?

A) We wear cheap suits, play loud fast rock n' roll & we're influenced by the year 1977

Q) How long has the band been together and how did you guys meet?

A) March 1st is our 1 year anniversary, we met on a blind date - well really on lvlocalmusicscene.com.

Q) I'm sure I'm being redundant as far as interviews go with this question... but tell us about deciding on the band?

A) It was a mutual agreement that we all wanted to do this type of Punk/Rock band.

Q) If you had to pick one of your songs that defines "The Pervz" sound, what would you have a new listener check out?

A) 'Pieces of You' - you can check it out at www.thepervz.com.

Q) I'm curious about the bands style, how it came about?

A) We're like peas in a pod, we just had the same vision about our future.

Q) Being that you guys are from Las Vegas, having been to LA before, what are some of the biggest differences in scene's from Vegas to LA?

A) The amount available venues, the receptive audiences in LA (no video poker in LA, no "last call" in LV)

Q) This is your 4th time in LA, how has the experience of building a fan base in Los Angeles been?

A) It's been really good, every time we come - more people are there to see us.

Q) You've had a chance to play shows with some local bands, any favorites?

A) The Stitches, White Trash Debutantes - we haven't really played with alot of local bands yet.

Q) You guys are out here for a few days, where are you going to be?

A) Friday night, we're at The Top Fuel Cafe 7554 W. Sunset Blvd between 9 & 10PM. Sat. night we're on We Be Rollen Radio 870 AM - www.weberollenradio.com.

Q) Anything you guys would want the LA folks to know about "The Pervz?"

A) That they definitely shouldn't miss any opportunity to take a peek at The Pervz.
