Jeddrah - CD Review - Famous

"Famous" - Jeddrah's second CD is absolutely riveting. It's one of those CD's that's immediately loved from the first cut "Maybe." The hard pop, edgy style of the entire band and Jeddrah's genius and passionate lyrical writing abilities are first rate. Jeddrah takes you on a spiritual and sexy journey into her soul (and yours) with songs like "All that I Am," "Lost (Lonely Woman)," "She's the One," and "Forgive Myself." The passion just continuously rocks throughout the whole album. The technically brilliant "For Your Life" shows the range of the band along with Hank Linderman's fantastic engineering style while staying within the feel and theme of the whole album.

It's very difficult to place Jeddrah in a specific category as she and the band offer something very original, yet with a familiar sound. Alanis Morissette meets Sarah McLachlan comes to mind when describing the passion generated by this uber-talented gal. Intense thought and power are in the mix for a genuinely fun ride full of life and love. Every song is a potential radio hit. The progressive rock percussions of Jonathan Mitchell add an element of classic rock, which, is very refreshing and particularly noticeable during "I Wonder" and "Everlasting Slumber." Kenny Mitchell on guitars has well placed licks and an incredible sense of rhythm adding a pleasant and melodic dynamic to the overall sound complimenting Jeddrah's voice superbly. Brian San Marco, the bass player, has a definitive sexy sound that gives cohesion with fills and perfect timing that's immediately perceived especially in such songs as "Sub-Urban Prison," "Everlasting Slumber," and "Just Lyrics." For a fresh, 21st century perspective on classy hard pop, this is truly a spectacular work. The entire work is vocally brilliant with overlays and background vocals all done by the voice of an angel.

Bottom line: This band works very hard, achieves quite a unique sound, and have stardom in their immediate future. There is pure magic and high energy in the blending of these musicians. The engineering is top notch and all tracks are extremely well mixed with a beautiful flow. Multimedia and video are also included.
